Joseph Carr (NFL President) - St. Joseph Cemetery

Carr was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1880.

He was director of the Columbus Panhandles from 1907 to 1922. The Panhandles were a semi-pro then pro football team. The team joined the American Professional Football League (APFL) in 1920. The league changed it's name to the National Football League (NFL) in 1921. The Pandhandles changed their name to the Tigers and folded after the 1926 season.

Joseph Carr served as the president of the American Basketball League from 1925 to 1928. He was president of the Columbus Senators, a minor league baseball team from 1926 to 1931. He was elected to the pro football hall of fame in 1963.
