Harry Beasley was awarded the Medal Of Honor for actions during the U.S. occupation of Veracruz in 1914.

Beasley was among a group of 5 men to scale a customs house. One man died during the action. Beasley became a police officer in Newark in 1926. On the night of June 30, 1931, Beasley was shot trying to stop a theft from a shoe store. Beasley died two days later from the gunshots. The assailants were never identified.
