Alexander McDowell McCook Sword - Ohio History Center
Daniel McCook of Carrollton, Ohio gave this sword to his son, Alexander McDowell McCook upon his graduation from West Point in 1852. A.M. McCook commanded the 1st Ohio Volunteer Infantry at the first Battle Of Bull Run. He was quickly promoted to general and fought at Shiloh, Perrysville, Stones River, Tullahoma, and Chickamauga.
