Ray Combs is best remembered for being a host of Family Feud from 1988 to 1994. He also hosted Family Challenge on the Family Challenge from 1995 to 1996.

Combs was born in Hamilton, Ohio in 1956. As a stand up comedian he eventually doing warm ups for various TV shows. In 1986 he appeared on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.  Then in 1988, Combs became host of Family Feud.

Adam Willis Wagnalls - Lithopolis Cemetery

Publisher Adam Wagnalls was born in Lithopolis, Ohio in 1843. Wagnalls joined the I.K. Funk company as a partner and created Funk & Wagnalls.

The company was known for it's line of dictionaries and encyclopedias.


On Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In, the line "Look that up in your Funk & Wagnalls" was commonly used.

Asa Bushnell - Ferncliff Cemetery

Asa Bushnell was born in Rome, New York and came to Springfield, Ohio at the age of 17. Bushnell was president of Warder, Bushnell and Glessner Company which merged with 3 other companies that formed International Harvester. He was Governor of Ohio from 1896 to 1900.

Charles Hazlett - Woodlawn Cemetery

Charles Hazlett was born in Zanesville, Ohio in 1838. Hazlett was 2nd LT. in the 2nd US Cavalry and then promoted to 1st LT. in Battery D, 5th Artillery. He was in both battles of Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville.

On July 2, 1863, Hazlett's battery was stationed at Little Round top on the second day of Gettysburg. While at the aid of General Stephen Weed, Hazlett was shot in the head by a sharpshooter. He was buried at Little Round Top then reburied at Woodlawn Cemetery. The marker above is what was installed in 2011.

Harrison was born in North Bend, Ohio in 1833. He was the grandson of President William Henry Harrison.
